The YAWATA 7018 is a low hydrogen welding electrode that contains a large amount of iron powder in the coating flux. It is designed for welding 490 N/mm2 high tensile strength steels for various applications, such as ships, steel frames, bridges and pressure vessels.
The YAWATA 7018 produces excellent mechanical properties, crack resistance and X-ray quality in the deposited metal. It has good weldability and high welding efficiency. It can be used for all positions, except vertical down, with AC or DC power sources.

Additional information:
- Store in a cool and dry place, away from moisture and humidity
- Re-dry the electrodes at 350°C for one hour before use
- Remove rust, oil, grease and dirt from the base metal before welding
- Use a short arc length and a weaving technique to avoid slag entrapment
- Clean the slag and spatter after each pass
