Frequently Asked Questions

Q1 What do I need to start sandblasting?

The air source, the sandblasting cabinet, the dust collector, and the blasting medium are the four main parts of a sandblasting system. Typically, an air compressor or bottle gas serves as the air source. The item to be blasted is kept in the sandblasting cabinet, and dust is extracted from the cabinet using a dust collector.

Q2 How do you sandblast safely?

Workers must wear protective helmets, clothes, goggles, gloves, safety boots, earplugs, and other OSHA-recommended equipment as part of the sandblasting safety procedures. Equip employees with the appropriate breathing apparatus. Sandblasting procedures need the use of respiratory protection at all times.

Q3 Does sandblasting damage brick?

The brick, mortar, and surrounding components that weren't meant to be sandblasted are frequently affected as well. It takes a lot of skill and attention to detail to sandblast brick and mortar. The air pressure needs to be continuously changed to account for the variation in softness.
