Our 1/4"-20  Hex Tap Bolt Silicon Bronze is similar to low carbon steel in hardness but offer high resistance to corrosive environments such as sea water, gases, sewage and atmospheric conditions. Harder than brass and has a high resistance to extreme temperatures, fully threaded from the point to the underside of the hex head and it is commonly used in plumbing, naval construction and power plant applications. Silicon bronze is superior for marine applications. They can also be used where good electrical conductivity is needed such as for grounding applications. Superior corrosion resistance to 316 stainless steel.
